Building Bridges Between People
A lifetime spent in our community taught Jeff that open-minded, inclusive leadership is critical to our shared success.  Jeff will reach out to his lifelong friends in the vibrant ethnic communities within our region to better involve and learn from all citizens.  A community is only whole when everyone has an equal voice.

Accountability
Jeff will fight for strong accountability and audit measures to make sure money is spent efficiently on programs to meet Oregon’s most pressing needs.  Growing a successful local business prepared Jeff to go to Salem with a common sense approach to deciding how to best spend our state’s limited resources.

21st Century Education for All
Jeff is proud to have grown up attending local schools and enjoys watching his children follow in his footsteps.  He will fight to ensure that future generations have access to a quality 21st Century education.  Jeff will focus on keeping money in classrooms, expanding teacher development and improving opportunities at community colleges and universities.

Strong Economy
A vibrant and diverse economy is the backbone of our community.  Jeff will work to grow our economy with an emphasis on long-term, stable family-wage jobs.  Jeff will join with other like-minded leaders to develop and expand smart, eco-friendly industries.  Balancing natural space, agriculture and industry are critical to Oregon’s future.

Health Care
As a business owner, Jeff saw it as both his responsibility and competitive advantage to provide health care to his employees. Jeff believes Oregon’s health care system needs reforms that are market-driven so individuals and businesses have access to insurance at a reasonable price. This can be done through reducing regulation and mandates, and by giving businesses tax incentives when they provide their employees health insurance. Individuals who purchase insurance for themselves and their families must also be eligible for tax credits.  We should provide better access to health care for children by expanding health services provided in schools. At the same time, we have to make sure all eligible children get covered under existing state programs.
